baby blessings & other stuff

The Leicester and Hardman families ... lucky all the Leicester's weren't there or we wouldn't have fit in the photo!

Lewis was a little perplexed at the whole day! Look at those eyebrows!
Matt with his hands full!
And Hannah ...
cool dude!

We've been having some trouble with some of the electrics in our house for a little while with it getting worse and worse with the circuit breaker tripping at least once every day, sometimes a couple of times a day. We weren't sure what was causing it and couldn't isolate a particular appliance which might be causing the problem. On Friday night after the circuit breaker tripped 3 times in the space of as many minutes, we thought maybe our resident possum might have caused some damage. We often hear the possum scratching in the wall behind a particular power point in our lounge room.
So we unscrewed the power point ... this is what we found ...
The black and the yellow wires were pretty much stripped bare and when we unscrewed the power point we found the little bugger clinging to the wires and his teeth and nose poking out the hole checking us out! It was quite cute ... and lucky it wasn't dead!

We taped up the wires and poured naphthalene flakes in the hole, apparently they don't like the smell. Indeed, the possum has not been back in that spot ... yet. Now we have to block up it's entry/exit points and find the little creature a new home.

1 July photos

It's school holidays and Max and Maeve had an invitation to a 'Princess & Prince' party for a 3 year old in our neighbourhood. Max was the only prince ... !! Anyway, these 2 are photos of the crowns they made at the party - about the only time Maeve has willingly posed for a photos and asked me to take her picture!

Max had the camera again today and I saw him taking a series of self portraits. I don't know how he learnt to do this, I've never showed him. Most of them were great nostril shots (and they weren't entirely clean), so I thought we wouldn't post those ones!
Max is really enjoying having some time at home with Lewis while Lewis is awake and there's nothing else that he has to do, like get dressed for school etc, so has been asking for a bit of cuddle time and is quite happy to sit on the couch with Lewis for ages, just holding him!
And my 3 beautiful children together, having a cuddle! I love this photo.

June

Finally some more photos ... Just random photos of the kids.

Max is growing up so fast. He's on school holidays now, so I may get some good photos over the next couple of weeks as we have a few 'outings' planned. This photo gives a good view of the self hair cut he gave himself this month - nice chunky fringe - it could have been a lot worse

Lewis, 12th JuneAnd later in the month - 23rd June - mastering the art of 'tummy time' and getting quite good at holding himself up - means I can get some photos of him in positions other than on his back! And now I must say Lewis does actually have other clothes other than his bonds wondersuits which he wears to bed - most days we don't really go anywhere though, so he spends a lot of time in his pyjamas - what a life!

Ewwww! Perhaps a little too much tummy time?!

From a child's perspective

So, Max asked for the camera this aftenoon and was pretty excited about taking some more pictures. Tonight before bed he made me promise that I would put them on the computer "but not the fuzzy ones"

So here's the world from Max's perspective - just a few out of the 130 odd pictures he took!!

Nice one of mummy
The bedroom door

Maeve's old booster chair for the dining room table

The basket of dirty washing at the back door
Max's perspective of Lewis
Max's favourite add (I don't know why) the Johnny Walker add where the people are invisible - he loves it!!
Obviously not a self portrait - Arie took this one - Max and his sweaty head (probably sweaty because of all the running around he's just done taking photos of strange things!)

I never really looked at this play thing from this level - the kids use it as a castle, a cubby and a rocket ship.

My peg container since my plastic one that used to hang on the ground got brittle and broke. The cardboard ice cream box seems to be doing a better job despite the rain of the last couple of days
Looks lush doesn't it
One of about 20 shots of the grass ... I wouldn't be surprised if some of it was from the neighbours yard as I went out the back to find both Max and Maeve climbing the fence.

One of the shelves in our 'toy lounge room' as it is known. Probably the one at eye level for little people.

oh dear, the wrong side of the fence without an adult!
The park at the end of the street - a blessing and a curse, not a day goes by that I don't get asked "can we go to the park today" - we should go more than we do.

Lewis - 3 months old ... almost

Well, he'll be 3 mths on Tuesday - where does the time go. Just for comparison, here's a newborn shot
